Laura Peregrine
Laura is a Physiotherapist with 18 years of experience, having worked in South Africa and the UK, before moving to the northern beaches of Sydney in 2005. She is clinically accredited through the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute and has been practicing and teaching Pilates for over 13 years.
Laura’s experience in Pilates has highlighted to her the importance of correct body alignment and movement in maintaining physical health.
Imbalances in these areas can be both the result of, or the actual cause, of significant pain and weakness.
Laura’s treatment approach involves dealing with presenting signs and symptoms but also with any underlying movement or alignment imbalances, ensuring that the true cause of the condition is resolved.
She uses manual therapies, dry needling and exercise prescription to release and retrain joints & muscles, and return the body to it’s optimal function. Laura is also a strong believer in promoting self management so provides home exercises programs and ‘functional habits’ to equip patients with the tools to do so.
As a mum herself, Laura has a strong interest in Pre and Post Natal Physiotherapy and Pilates. She has done specialist training in the treatment of headaches, and her specific interest lies in dealing with physical conditions, either short or long-standing, that seemingly manifest for no reason yet are significantly affecting daily activity and enjoyment of life - be it at the computer, on the dance floor or in the backyard.
